1. About these terms
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) apply to your use of yoursteady.com and the Steady breathing and grounding exercises (together, the “Services”). The Services are provided by SLAE Labs LLC, a California limited liability company (“SLAE Labs,” “we,” or “us”). By using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Services.
2. What Steady is
Steady offers a free, one-minute comfortable-breathing guide and a short 3–2–1 sensory grounding exercise for everyday wellbeing. No account is required. How we handle information is described in our Privacy Policy.
3. Not medical care
The Services are subject to our Safety & Medical Disclaimer, which is part of these Terms. In short: the Services are for general informational and educational purposes only; they are not medical or mental health advice, diagnosis, or treatment; Steady is not a medical device and has not been clinically validated; and you should consult a qualified professional with any health concerns. The Services are not designed to respond to emergencies and must never be used as a substitute for emergency care.
4. Who may use Steady
The Services are intended for people 13 and older. If you are under 18, you may use them only with the involvement of a parent or guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.
5. Using the Services responsibly
Please use Steady only somewhere safe and never while driving or doing anything that requires your full attention. You agree not to misuse the Services — for example, by interfering with their operation, attempting to access them in unauthorized ways, or using them for any unlawful purpose.
6. Our content
The Steady name, logo, design, text, and code are owned by SLAE Labs or its licensors. You may use the Services for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute them except as allowed by law.
7. Your responsibility and assumption of risk
You decide whether an exercise is appropriate for you. Breathing exercises carry some inherent risk, including dizziness, lightheadedness, and in rare cases fainting. To the extent permitted by law, you voluntarily assume these risks when you choose to use the Services, and you agree to stop and seek appropriate care if you feel unwell.
8. No warranties
The Services are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any exercise will produce any particular result.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SLAE Labs and its owners, members, officers, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of the Services. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Services will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us to use the Services in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) US $50.
Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain warranty exclusions or liability limits, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
10. Other websites
The Services link to outside resources, such as research articles and the 988 Lifeline. We don’t control those sites and aren’t responsible for their content or practices.
11. Changes
We may update the Services or these Terms from time to time. When we change the Terms, we’ll post the new version here and update the date above. Continuing to use the Services after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms. We may also change or discontinue the Services at any time.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute relating to the Services will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Santa Clara County, California, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court where it qualifies.
13. General
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our not enforcing a provision isn’t a waiver of it. These Terms, together with the Safety & Medical Disclaimer and Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and SLAE Labs about the Services.
