If you need help right now
For a medical emergency or immediate danger, call 911 (or your local emergency number). In the U.S., call or text 988 to reach the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, free and available 24/7, for any kind of emotional distress. Steady does not provide emergency or crisis services and cannot contact help for you.
Steady is a wellness tool, not medical care
Steady offers a one-minute comfortable-breathing guide and a short 3–2–1 grounding exercise for everyday wellbeing.
The exercises and all other content on yoursteady.com (the “Services”) are for general informational and educational purposes only. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or condition, and they are not a substitute for professional medical or mental health advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Steady is not a medical device, is not a licensed healthcare provider, and has not been clinically validated.
Ask your physician or another qualified health provider before trying breathing exercises if you have concerns about your health — especially if you are pregnant, have a respiratory or heart condition, have a history of seizures or fainting, or take medication that affects your breathing, heart rate, or blood pressure. Never disregard professional advice or delay seeking care because of something you read or experienced on Steady.
No particular result is promised. It’s okay if you feel the same afterward, or if these exercises aren’t useful for you.
Safety guidelines
- Be somewhere safe. Sit or lie down somewhere comfortable before you begin.
- Not while driving. Don’t use Steady while driving, operating machinery, in or near water, or doing anything that needs your full attention.
- Keep breathing comfortable. Don’t force deep breaths and don’t hold your breath. You never need to match the circle — your natural pace is always fine.
- Stop if you feel unwell. If you feel dizzy, lightheaded, short of breath, tingly, or notice chest pain, a racing heartbeat, or more distress, stop and breathe normally. Seek medical attention if symptoms persist or worry you.
- Everything is optional. You can pause, skip a grounding step, or stop at any time. Keep your eyes open if that feels better.
You are responsible for deciding whether an exercise is appropriate for you and for how you use the Services.
Who Steady is for
Steady is intended for people 13 and older. If you are under 18, please use it with the involvement of a parent, guardian, or another trusted adult.
